about

the photographer

how it began

Over 15 years ago, I unofficially adopted my first digital camera by way of using it too much. It belonged to my brother, and then it was mine. My first subject was the family house cat.

I've since upgraded my gear and have continued the photography habit, especially while traveling or hiking. I spent a lot of time taking photos of landscapes and plants, though I didn't usually share many of the photographs with people.

It wasn't until I started consciously taking more photos of my own child that I began to feel like there was a real drive for my photography. Time will pass regardless, and I wanted to be able to look back on as much as I could.

I thought, maybe other people want this, too.

why i do it

Once I started taking pictures of other people and families, I found real joy in their joy...

... during the photoshoots.
...when they received the photo collection.
...when their family and friends loved the photos they shared.

With portrait photography, I'm all about images that are characteristic of warmth and personality. Particularly with family portraits, I want them to be distinctive of joy and emotion.

The wonderful feedback that I get from families after their portrait photoshoot gives me that amazing, warm fuzzy feeling and motivates me to keep on doing this.

And I want to create amazing portraits for you, too. Contact me today and we'll get started on capturing memories you can look back on.
